The Prix Marcel Duchamp Award Shortlist
The Prix Marcel Duchamp Award, considered one of the most prestigious Art Awards in France, has revealed its shortlist for 2019. The Prix Marcel Duchamp Award is an annual award given to a working French artist at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in October. The Award comes not just with €35,000, but with esteemed acclaimaition.

After training as a social scientist, Baudelaire established himself as a visual artist with a practice incorporating photography, printmaking and video, often focused on social and historical research, which he sees as an extension of his earlier work in political science.

Katinka Bock is a maker of curious sculptures engaged with meteorological conditions.
Using clay, natural, and found materials, and more recently bronze, Bock creates sculptures and installations that explore temporality and space, and that also mine the territories of history and geography. While often dealing with natural alteration processes, or filming the disappearance of sculptural elements, she creates a continuous movement between outdoor and indoor spaces, the exhibition space and the production site.
Marguerite Humeau's mystical sculptures evoke prehistoric times and other worlds. The pieces were the subject of a just-closed New Museum exhibition in New York.
Humeau has described herself as an “Indiana Jones in Google times.”
Marguerite Humeau is a French artist living and working in London. Her research led process usually takes the form of large scale installations involving sound and sculpture in which she challenges key issues of the day using complex narratives that synthesise the past with the present.
